Am I the only one who completely gave up on the concept of time? Like, not just for myself, but parenting has zero rules tied to time of day now. Want to stay up until midnight? Whatever. Just don't make eye contact with me after 9:00 pm.
That's my excuse for why it's ... 10:00 pm? Is that a real time? I know it's the year Thursday. ANYWAY, Mila is FaceTiming with one of her friends at this very moment and they're taking turns singing lullabies to one another.
I don't ask why. They're 5. There is no why in their world.
The more important question is HOW because HOLY COW NOBODY COULD FALL ASLEEP TO THAT SCREECHING. Neither one of them can turn down their volume enough to carry a decent tune. That's basically my way of saying I may never sleep again. Because my ears won't stop ringing.
Before they destroyed my ability to think, the two of them were talking about the fact tha, as of today, school is officially cancelled for the rest of the year. Five-year olds are the most resilient creatures on this planet, so of course they started out talking about how it's sad that they won't see each other at school, but ended with "But I'm talking to you now! And that's really cool! And you're my favorite! And I love your shirt!"
Kindergarteners are the best.
Here's more proof.
