77Kids is 77 Shades of Amazing

So. That hypothetical thing I maybe sort of mentioned in passing? It's happening next week. It's Do Good Day, sponsored by 77Kids (for the uninformed, 77Kids is American Eagle's childrens brand--they've been online for a while, but in-mall stores are starting to open, with Pittsburgh's store opening July 15th at The Mall at Robinson.) (Yes, there has been a 77Kids store there for a while, but it was a tiny test-pilot kind of store. We're talking about The Real Deal.).

Anyway.

I'm just going to go ahead and admit that when Cooper from The Motherhood approached me about being involved in Do Good Day, I heard, "They will give you money to go perform random acts of kindness" and that's about it. I'm pretty sure she said more after that, but I didn't hear it because I was all, "I'M IN LIKE FLYNN." I have been a fan of 77Kids for a while, I love American Eagle as a company, and, well, random acts of kindness? OK. I can do that!

This life I lead? Let's just say sometimes it's charmed. When it doesn't involve puke.

So.

Today the Do Good Day "packets" arrived at my house. I knew they were coming, but I didn't really know what it all meant. I remember hearing something about a t-shirt for each of the bloggers' kids, but that's about when something shiny appeared and I stopped paying attention.

You guys. There was SO MUCH more than just t-shirts in those boxes.

Fun glasses and pinwheels and candy and bubbles and thank you cards and notepads and whistles and t-shirts and coupons and and AND!

$77! And 7 ideas for good you can do with just $1!

Each of my co-conspirators has their very own box of stuff just like that one that they'll be passing out to whoever happens to be in the area.

AND! We have another trick up our sleeves that is based on some of the ideas y'all provided.

July 14th. North Shore. Sometime after 11:00am. There will be some epic do-goodery going on.

The fine print . . .While I will be compensated by 77Kids for my participation in the Do Good Day shenanigans, they did not have anything to do with this post whatsoever. This is just me getting all gushy and excited because SHENANIGANS! I love shenanigans!

How cool is this!! I am so excited, I want to do a happy dance, which will make Bella Giggle, and if that happens, you know I will do it over and over, looking completely ridiculous, but WHO CARES! Oh Em GEE!
Can't wait to see the surprise, and then the joy on people's faces! :)

Sooo we ADORE 77 kids, as a matter of fact is all (besides a trip to American Girl in NEW YORK) asked for for her birthday next month...you would think she was going to 17 instead of 7! She said "hey mom...you know those eagle clothes" "yeah, i want more of those" SERIOUSLY!
When I was reading your blog the other night she spotted the button on the side and said "is that about 77 kids"?? and I said Noooo, what are you talking about...only to scroll back UP and see the button. She's been stalking that store at Robinson ever since the "test" store closed. The first weekend they opened online we placed our first order. The hat and gloves did NOT hold up so well, but since then everything else has. She was so excited to have her picture on the wall of the "test" store!
I'm not sure where exactly on the North Shore you will be on the 14th, but we may have to wander down that way, because A.) we're ALL about doing good and B) we LOVE 77 kids!
Can't wait to hear more about it!
