I Couldn't Eat Junk Food When I Was Pregnant With Her Either
This is sponsored content by BlogHer and Kelloggs.
My kid is kinda weird. I'm not sure how many times I have thought that, but every day she reminds me of it again. Offer her a choice between Lima beans and chocolate, and she'll take the Lima beans. Ask her if she would rather have a salad or a cupcake, she's taking the salad. Send her down the breakfast aisle and she will walk straight to her favorite cereal-Kellogg's Strawberry Delight Mini Wheats.
Seriously.
Forget the powdered donuts, the kid would happily eat Strawberry Mini Wheats every single day for every single meal for the rest of her life.
I'm OK with that. I mean, who am I to complain when the kid prefers healthy foods?
It's pretty common that Alexis will start to grab a snack, turn to me, and ask, "Is this healthy?" She cares about eating healthy foods a lot. She just plain prefers them. She always has. In fact, I couldn't eat junk food when I was pregnant with her. Those of you who have met me know that my food pyramid consists of chocolate, french fries, pizza, and more chocolate. And, yet, while I was pregnant, I thought even graham crackers were too sweet. The kid was forcing her healthy ways on me long before I realized that she's exactly right.
If everybody were born preferring healthy choices, we'd all be a lot better off. I'm trying very hard to learn from her, even if I do hate Lima beans.

I asked Random.org to pick a number, and it decided that Lauren should be the lucky one. An email has been sent to her and she has 48 hours to reply. Congrats!

my kids favorite cereal is Kix.
Rice chex. Brand or generic, he doesn't care. Once in a while Golden Grahams. Otherwise its rice chex for breakfast EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK. Variety isn't a word for 7 year olds.
We're a 'git and go' kinda group so it's smoothies for us. Yogurt, fruit, juice, ice and some flax or protein powder if we have it.
Cheerios is the standard and Life Cereal as a special treat.
Cookie Crisp - very healthy! HA!
Chocolate Cheerios for sure!
Barbara's Bakery Puffins, original or cinnamon. I'm gluten free and my daughter prefers the gluten free cereals to the "regular" kind.
2 kids, 2 favorites - one Frosted Mini-Wheats, the original. One Cheerios, the original.
Multi grain cheerios. Although mine don't really have a choice in the matter ;-)
Chocolate Cheerios are the best thing to happen to cereal in a long time!!!!
Little kid likes Honey Nut cheerios and oatmeal (preferably the "real" kind, not instant). They both of course like the sweeter ones like sugar smaks (though i think those are just called smaks now) or fruit loops, but I try to offer those as a dessert option. Fortified w vitamins, sugary breakfast cereals actually make a relatively healthy dessert I think. Relatively ;)
Growing up, my favorite cereal was raisin bran. Now that I've grown into my mature adult ways, my favorite cereal is cinnamon toast crunch. How does that work? Cereal is one of my favorite foods though - it is good any time of the day.
When I got sick of cafeteria food in college, my go-to dinner was two bowls of cereal and a pepsi.
Whole Foods brand Morning O's. He calls them pink O's (the box is purple, so close enough, I guess).
My son's favorite cereal is Raisin Bran. I say yuck! He gets that from his father.
Lucky Charms all the way!
Cheerios! Plain ol' cheerios... everyone always thinks im crazy but it's the only cereal I like.
Well I don't have a kid (but I still read your blog and find it high-larious)... but when I want to feel like a kid I gravitate toward cinnamon toast crunch (AKA ctc) and golden grahams! And I wait until they get mushy just so the mil tastes better; yes, I am *that* person :^)
The boy would most likely enjoy any of the sugar cereals, but he's limited to Life and Honey Nut Cheerios... Froot Loops on special occasions... Although, he doesn't like cookies or most candies or pop tarts or cereal bars...
It changes. The top two so far have been Froot Loops and Honey Combs. I once commented that eating those frosted mini wheats was like chewing on a brillo pad. Not my favorite so no wonder my kid likes the sugary cereals.
Cream of Wheat.
My kid is also weird.
I don't have any kids yet, but my best friend's daughter's favorite cereal at the moment is that new Fruity Cheerios stuff. I guess it's like Froot Loops only healthy-ish? My favorite is and always will be Cinnamon Toast Crunch though!
"Pink" (strawberry yogurt) Cheerios-we go through one box in about two and half days! Hubby and I love them too.
I'm not even kidding: Special K. Because it's MOM'S cereal and they think they're getting away with murder when I let them have some. (Hee hee hee - I'm so sneaky!)
My son's favorite cereal is REGULAR Frosted Mini Wheats!
I, too, am raising a nerd. :)
Lucky Charms is a favorite at our house.
No kids, but I used to LOVE the good sugared cereals, aka That Which We Were Never Allowed to Have.
Thank goodness for Grandma and the Kellogs Snack Pack! Hellooooo Sugar Frosted Flakes!
Favorite now is probably Cap'n Crunch, although I probably haven't had any in 15 years.
Cheerios. Mostly because it's the only non-mush cereal he's had to date. ;-)
When does the modeling career begin? And, why does her hair look so dark in that picture?
Dylan's favorite is Kix or Cheerios, but he prefers Kellog's blueberry waffles for breakfast.
One likes Cap'n Crunch, one likes Apple Jacks, one likes Cheerios. :)
We love Special K's fruit and Yogurt cereal.

It changed frequently, but right now its Fruit Loops, or as Jack calls them "Loops". Other recent favorites have been Cheerios and Chex.
no kids, but I liked Apple Jacks and Froot Loops as a kid.
Sadly, my kids LOVE Booberry. Even after I warned them it would discolor their, um, "deposits!"
There's no favorite cereal in our house-it varies everyday! Cheerios, Rice Krispies, Fruit Loops, Cocoa Puffs, Lucky Charms, Mini Wheats-you just never know!
My daughter loves Lucky Charms.
Right now it is Cinnabon. Before we tried that, it was Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Wish my kid had your kid's eating habits. She does obsessively check how many grams of sugar are in everything.
My sons love Crispix and Apple Jacks
Honey Bunches of Oats are great! I like Lucky Charms too.
honey nut cheerios. That's our standard for breakfast during the week. If daddy is home or it's a special day then we bump up to a full out breakfast, but i'd say over 80% of the time it's Cheerios!
My kids love Corn Pops and Froot Loops!
cinnamon toast crunch!!
Mine likes Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
Rice Krispies - loved the 'snap, crackle, pop' as a child. AND love to make the treats for snack/dessert.
walkingmissmolly@gmail.com
Our favorites would have to be Frosted Mini Wheats with Raisin Bran Crunch a very close second!!
My favorites are Rice Krispies and Frosted Flakes!

My twins love Chocolate Cheerios, the 7 year old loves Frosted Flakes. Multi grain cheerios for me!
My daughter likes Corn Pops...not that she gets them too often!
Well, I don't have a kid - so I'm going to name my favorite cereal as a kid, which hands down was Cookie Crisp. Now it makes me gag :)
Apple Jacks and Fruit Loops!

We used to eat Frosted Flakes with Tony the Tiger when I was young so that is my favorite Kelloggs cereal!
Thanks for a chance to win!
