Ten Things I'm Grateful to Have Seen

1. A Toddler's face light up like a Christmas tree while playing with the pure joy that is bubbles.

2. The sparkling white sands of La Costa Del Sol along the Mediterranean Coast of Spain (*LA LA LA conveniently forgetting the part about the old fat guys wearing Speedos LA LA LA*). (Follow the link--how freakin' cool is it that they have a webcam on the beech?!?! I used to sit RIGHT THERE nearly every night.)

3. The Toddler spontaneously teaching others to stop and smell the flowers.

4. The Steelers win a SuperBowl.

5. Mr. Husband's pride the first time he held his daughter. And his subsequent Papa Bear Fierceness when they gave her shots, making her scream.

6. The vast nothingness that is North Dakota as it enables me to more greatly appreciate that which is absolute and complete boredom. It can't be found anywhere else. (You can tell me that the photo is pretty, and it is, but imagine looking at it for sixteen years or so. THERE IS NOTHING ELSE TO LOOK AT.)

7. The One Step Ahead catalog because it's STILL the funniest thing of all time. Yes, I am easily amused.

8. Walt Disney World through the eyes of a child.

9. Enough sadness and heartache to recognize that life really is good just the way it is.

10. A scrunchy-faced Toddler nibbling on corn on the cob.

I love those things. All of them. Even that scrunchy faced cutie and her ever-loving father.

But maybe not NoDak.

You MUST give me fodder for North Dakota's Totally Incensed Tuesday. You MUST!

Oh - and i fully support scrunchy faces as evidenced by my avatar.

I'm impressed you got her to eat corn on the cob. Gavin looks at me like I have three heads when I suggest it.

Posts like these are always good when you need to put things into perspective. May also need to add "the smell of a young baby" cuz after spending 4-1/2 days with my baby cousin?...pure bliss.

Very sweet. It is nice to step back and take note of those things we are grateful for sometimes. Thanks for some inspiration at the ungodly hour of 6am. :)

I love #9. We need to all realize that THIS MOMENT IS OUR LIFE. And appreciate the "corn on the cob" moments!

Loved the One Step Ahead post. Since my children have four legs, I am given the same feeling when I look at some things in the Drs Fosters and Smith catalog. I seriously can't imagine blowing up a potty chair. My sensitive gag reflex would kick in even if it was brand new!!!!

that is seriously the cutest picture with the corn on the cob. How precious!

On #6 - having grown up surrounded by hills, I find flat places disturbing. The sky is too large there. Western Pennsylvania breeds agoraphobia.

Those are all great things (some of which I have yet to experiance...) But for me? Better than One Step Ahead was the Brigadier Quartermaster's Monthly.

After ordering some rather unusual textbooks for grad school, I got on some mailing list for the uber paranoid and militias preparing for the New World Order.

What a great post! I'm grateful to see #10, too, because that is Adorable. Kids do teach us to enjoy the little things about life, don't they?

Aw, what a sweet post!

North Dakota is beautiful, but I can definitely see the boredom that one would succumb to...

That picture of Alexis eating corn is priceless.

That picture is beyond adorable.

Now when I go to the beach I am going to wonder who sees me on the web cam. I am sure they'll be able to pick out my thighs no problem...

That last picture is a hoot! I want to go to Spain, too....as long as I don't have to see fat guys in speedos..ick!

Anglophile Football Fanatic said...

So, is now to remind you of fat Germans with lots of back hair and no deodorant wearing speedos? Cause having smelled & witnessed that? It MUST be shared.

Men in speedos? EW. AFF's comment? EW-er.

Love the corn pic. Agree about ND, and I LOVE One Step Ahead catalogs.
