A Sign of the Apocalypse

Christmas Crazy for Kids

Once upon a time there was a blogger who was a tad bit obsessed with all things Christmas. She loved the lights, the decorations, the trees, the ornaments . . . all of it. But, she most especially loved the gifts. Not the receiving of the gifts, but much more so the giving. The giving of gifts was something that made her heart sing.

Through a rather random series of events, the blogger found herself wanting to use a little contest money to buy Christmas gifts for the kids residing at a Pittsburgh domestic violence shelter. Unfortunately, the rather random series of events blew up and then ran away like an out-of-control freight train headed down a cliff. However, the blogger's readers insisted that she turn that situation around and find a way to still help those kids. Christmas Crazy for Kids was born.

Now entering its third year, Christmas Crazy for Kids seeks to provide the means for a very merry Christmas to area children in need.

In 2009, over $1000 in gift cards were sent to two domestic violence shelters (Alle-Kiski HOPE Center and the Women's Center & Shelter of Greater Pittsburgh),  and nearly half a bus was filled with toys. In 2010, $3150 and over 100 Zhu Zhu Pets were sent to Alle-Kiski Area HOPE Center and an entire bus was filled with toys. This year that blogger is daring to dream bigger.

Has that blogger mentioned that she adores you for helping make Christmas Crazy for Kids possible? Because I most definitely do. ;-)
