Butt I Want it Back

Alexis has essentially lived in dresses for several months. On the rare occasions that she has worn pants, it's been the same jeans. Over and over. It seems that when a kid only wears pants every other week or so, the same ones are always on top in her drawer. So when a strange little miracle happened earlier in the week and I managed to get Alexis to wear DIFFERENT jeans, I was shocked.

Very shocked.

Girlfriend who used to be super-chub? Not so chub.

Girlfriend who used to have stocky little stubs for legs? Not so stubby.

When exactly did the kid who could wear capris in winter, just so long as I rolled them up a bit so they weren't too long, suddenly start outgrowing pants based on the length? BEFORE the waist stopped fitting?

And, when did her knees get knobby? I distinctly remember numerous layers of adorable little fat folds on those knees.

And where the hell did her butt go? She has no butt. She had a butt. Now she doesn't. Were do butts go? The butt impound?

*sigh*

She's growing up, isn't she?

Oh the thinning out of the toddler. Always a sad day.

I cried when Abbie lost her chubbiness. Now shes so skinny.
Alexis is a cutie! :)

I feel your pain. We're down to one roll on the legs, and two very small rolls on the arms. *cries*

She's growing up.But such a cute kid, even without the rolls. :)

Same thing here. No butt. Monkey arms that go on for days outside of WHATEVER shirt I put on. Pants that used to be long are now capris...which are less than cute on a 2 and a half year old BOY!

A sad day for mom. I feel your pain.

I want the butt impound to take mine. Life is *so* not fair. Kids can have them, and it's cute. Yet they get theirs confiscated.

Look at the little gymnast! Let's just say the classes are thinning her down. No, let's not, because then you'll stop taking her!

Morgan's beginning to thin out. But, she still rocks the chub rolls on the arms and knees. For now.

They grow up way too fast..It always seems to happen when your not looking. (Hugs)Indigo

It is upsetting when you can SEE that they are growing up. I miss my kids' baby rolls. But my kids are far from babies now. But the memory still remains.

Sounds like someone's jealous that her own butt hasn't disappeared. But, I can only imagine your shock when you realize when she needs to start wearing a bra. Good luck with that.

Aaron was like that. He was 40 lbs by 1 1/2. Delicious fat roll every where. Now at 4 he only weighs 45 lbs, is the size of a six year old and you can visibly see his ribs and spine. I miss the chub!

Awwww!! I remember those days with Princess.

It's so cute and yet heartbreaking, too.

The day I stopped being able to shop in the toddler section and move to the girls section made me cry ;-( she was only 4!!
Hugs!!

@Rachel--I had to start crossing the aisle to Big Girls this summer in order to buy t-shirts big enough for Alexis. Makes me weepy just thinking about it.

Oh dear! Our toddler was born with no butt. His Pampers have been too big from day 1 (5 lbs 12 oz, premie diapers). Now, still no butt. He is tall enough for 18 month clothes, but still too thin for 12 month. People look at us like we don't feed him! Oh, to have his metabolism :).

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterKelly

Sounds like it's hitting. :( You could always feed her ice cream until she gets her booty back! :D

And you thought there were parts of her legs that were never going to see daylight.

I hear you! I actually felt sad when I realized my babies thigh folds were gone!

Funny, I just looked at Hope last night and realized that she has gotten taller...how in the heck can my little baby be pushing 7....

It so wrong on so many levels.

I love Alexis' little toesies!

Going through the same thing with Maggie :( Her pants fall off her bum because there is nothing to hold them up anymore! And I swear she's grown an inch in the last 2 weeks (which would explain the intense crankies we've had going on) I put pants on her yesterday that I *KNOW* fit her a week or two ago and they're way too short. GAH. QUIT GROWING.

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterJennifer

Ah, that is so cute! I love when little tiny jeans finally fit them without the sag, rolled up bottoms, and the adjustable waist cinched up so tight, the front in now on the side!

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterVal

If you find a way to make them stop growing let me know.

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterTammy

I DID NOTICE WHEN I WAS A T THE CENTER THE OTHER DAY WHEN I WAS HOLDING HER SHE SEMMED ALOT LIGHTER. SHE IS STILL SO FLIPPEN CUTE. :)

I know, nothing is worse than the loss of the Super Pinchable Toddler Butt!

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterNicki

The only chub anywhere on my daughter is her thighs and it's practically melting overnight. **sniff**

Yep, yep, she is. Luckily I still have some fat to pinch on the younger one... : )

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterElaine A.

i wish i had her butt problem...that's all i'm saying.

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterBia

Too cute! Luckily you have time before you get "But when can I wear a BRA?!" She's 10. If she's like me, she won't need one for YEARS!

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered Commenterwendy

OMG! Look at her nonexistent butt. Too cute. She really has trimmed down just since I have "known" her...amazing!

January 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterAllison Says

Maren climbed up in a chair last night to wash her hands at the sink and I thought the exact same thing! She still has a bit of a rump (mostly thanks to her Huggies), but the legs are getting so much thinner and her 2T pants are actually starting to fit. Definitely time for another.

January 24, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterFishsticks and Fireflies

Awwwww...no more adorable little baby rolls anymore? Time for another baby....LOL j/k!
