It's a New Years Miracle

Look! Look! Look!

LOOOOOK!

Do you see it?

CAN YOU BELIEVE IT?!?!

A HAIRCUT!

Not the dog. The kid!

Yes, folks, you should mark your calendars, call your neighbors, and honor this occasion. It took three years, eleven months, and eight days, but the kid FINALLY got a haircut. Her first!

Sure, I've trimmed a stray strand or two over the years, but it took until good ol' 2010 for the kid to need a real haircut. It was EPIC. She sat on the floor, I trimmed a little here and there, and when she stood up? There was totally enough hair on the floor to make a mohawk wig for a Barbie doll. Maybe even two!

I actually had to drag out the vacuum to clean up the itty bitty little mess.

At this rate, her next haircut will be in 2013. I might even pay someone for that one.

Awe, what a cutie. Love the cut!

Tomorrow morning Peanut goes to get her hair cut. I'm tired of fighting her. I'm tired of the tears. I'm tired of it looking like she's slept in those braids for 3 days because I didn't have the strength to fight her to brush it. (and sometimes it had been 3 days) Tomorrow she gets a bob. Shoulder length. I'm sad to see those braids go, though.

Now I just hope she doesn't pee all over the barber chair.

For Julia, I have had 3 cuts by a pro and 6-8 times cut by me since she was about 11 months... Julia's hair grows like a weed... the way mine does. *sigh* alexis does look cute in that pic. Lucky for me julia is pretty good w geting hair cuts since she has had so many.

Congrats! I have heard it said, the more you cut it/trim it, the more it will grow. Not sure if that is true. Maybe now that she has had her first cut, it will start growing more! :)
She look adorable. :)

Cute haircut. Wow. My son had his first haircut before he was a year old, and now gets them about every six weeks. I, on the other hand, am a different story. :-)

Very pretty. Abby had hers cut at a "pro" place once, and a couple times by Grandma, who was once a beautician in another life. :-)

Love it! My kiddos grow hair at ridiculous rates, and both Cooper and Maren seem to require more hair maintenance in a 6-month period than I require in 3 years.

Her curls look all nice and bouncy! What did Miss Thang think of the occasion?

Too cute! My girls have so much hair I had to cut theirs starting at a year, but I've never been brave enough to do it myself. Amazing she sat so well for you. Just hope she doesn't try to cut her own hair like so many of my friends' kids have. I have been lucky that neither of mine ever did that. Does she like her new haircut?

You are kidding?! Think of all the money you have saved!!! My kid needs a haircut every 3 months I think.

Her first haircut! Aww, how cute! :) It's a milestone, you know! :)

That makes her one haircut ahead of The Little Man. I just hit him with scissors anytime he stands still...which is rare:/

You did a fantastic job, Mom ;)
