Choosing to Avoid Getting Into Trouble

I've mentioned a few thousand times that Mila makes bad choices. It's a fact, but it's also what makes her so fantastic. There's logic to her choices and damn if that kid isn't always going to be the happiest around.

"Aggressively happy." Those are the words someone used to describe her last week. They are the truest words ever spoken. Mila is indeed aggressively happy. It's exhausting and trying and ... amazing.

The thing is, though, I think maybe Mila is starting to come around. She's juuuust on the edge of caring if she's doing something that will get her in trouble. I wouldn't say she fully cares, but she thinks about caring? Maybe? Mostly she's starting to try to make better choices.

Like how she chose to push the piano bench up to the window to enjoy some peaceful time looking out the window.

Mila looked so darn adorable sitting there, quietly watching the world go by, that I let her be for several minutes.

But then I realized it was too quiet. There is absolutely a moment when quiet passes over to "too" quiet and with Mila, sometimes that "too" means a wall is about to be torn down or a car is about to explode into flames. YOU JUST NEVER KNOW.

Or maybe Mila was sitting by the window because she thought she could hide something in plain sight. It almost worked.

Whichever kid in her class gave her Fun Dip for Valentine's Day is officially on my Most Wanted list. We WILL have words, right after I manage to clean all of that blue crap off of Mila.

So, like, the year 2021 or so.

Well, it was a good try. Needs more practice tough.
