Sleep, Glorious Sleep (And a Giveaway)
Sponsored by Technogel.
I really love sleep.
I mean, I really REALLY love sleep.
Sometimes I think about the things that I love more than sleep and, man, it's a short list. It's a short list that consists of the precise reasons I don't get enough sleep.
Their names are Mila and Alexis. One before the other, one more than other, but always one or the other gets in the way of glorious, glorious sleep.
Given how much I adore my friend sleep and how rarely I get to spend time with her, you would think that I would be thorough in figuring out how to make the best of our time together. You would think that I would make sure I have the comfiest of beds, the best of blankets, and the perfect pillow. You would think wrong. The fact of the matter is that I'm too tired to think those things through.
That's my excuse for why I've had the wrong pillow for years and years. I just didn't know, nor did I think about it because sleep. What's that? I forget. It might be what Mila is dragging around all over the living room right now (at 10:30 pm, no less), but I can't be sure because I'm too tired to go look.
Sleeeeeeep.
ANYWAY.
I never knew I had the wrong pillow. I still wouldn't know if a Technogel pillow hadn't shown up on my doorstep. I never knew that the reason my neck was wonky every morning and the reason my back wasn't quite right each day was that the super fluffy down pillow I've slept on for years was wrong. All wrong. It was too soft and not right and just plain awful in comparison to what I have now.
The difference was instant. One night with the Technogel pillow that was selected because I'm a side sleeper who doesn't like contour anything, and suddenly all the "man, I'm getting old" creaks of the morning were gone. ONE NIGHT.
I'm kind of ticked about all of those nights I didn't have it. A PILLOW. A pillow is all it took to fix my creaky neck and back. Mind you, it's a pillow filled with unicorn tears and magical little minions who exist solely to make sure I sleep as comfortably as possible. Still, A PILLOW.
If you would like to see if you can vastly improve upon your relationship with sleep like I did, leave a comment below telling me your preferred sleep position. (For example, my absolute preferred position is currently on my side as the big spoon while Mila little spoons her way into my heart.) (Baby cuddles, man. They're awesome, even if they do come with a side of frequently awake.) I will pick one comment at random from all comments received by midnight on August 19th. Technogel will send the comment author a fancy new pillow of their own. Easy!
To increase your odds of winning your own pillow filled with unicorn tears and magical little minions, you can also check out this contest. Upload a photo of why you #WakeUpInspired and you can win a pillow AND $2000. Because awesome.
By the way, this is why I #WakeUpInspired.

My preferred sleeping position is on my side in the fetal position with my 3 year old nestled in my arms or against my back. I love to feel him breathe beneath me.
Left side with right leg hanging over the side of the bed.
My favorite sleep position is on my stomach with one knee/leg drawn up. I take up a lot of bed when I'm comfy! And I somehow always wake up on my back. Hm.
I'm a side sleeper too and in the market for a new pillow so this is good timing.
I'm a stomach sleepers with one leg hitched up. Makes my husband crazy, but I sleep far less tha he does, so I sometimes really don't care. (Meanest ever.) I'm also one of those people who - if you wake me up, I'm awake. It doesn't matter if I've only been asleep for five minutes. :/
I'm mostly a back sleeper, but I switch back and forth from back to side. And I am never, ever comfortable. Ever.
Stomach. I will wake up in many positions but only fall asleep on my stomach. I'm terrified of ever being pregnant because I absolutely can not fall asleep on my side!
I am a side sleeper.
I have slept on my belly all my life but now that hur r s my back. I need to sleep on my back to keep it from happening.
Side sleeper, with 2 fake down pillows and 1 terrible pillow to prop me up.
Mostly back sleeper but occasionally left side. And I sleep way too little also!
Left side, slightly curled up seems to be my current jam :)
Side sleeping, curled up in a somewhat fetal position; but when I am really tired, I am all about the back.
Left side, backed up against the sweet man. At least till a hot flash shows up. Then it's any position where the ceiling fan does me the most good....
Side sleeper, with a pillow or two clasped to my chest, to keep my shoulders from collapsing inward. Switch sides at every stirring.
I love to sleep on my back. It is a problem right now since I'm 38 weeks pregnant, but I'm looking forward to sleeping on my back again.
Side sleeper. And I wake up with a cat spooning against me.
Back sleeper and I hate every pillow I've ever tried. My most recent investment was a barley pillow because that seemed like a good idea. I'm not sure I made it through a full night. I have this elaborate process of rolling up the side of my pillow to support my neck...sigh.
I am a side sleeper with one crunchy neck in the morning.
Stomach sleeper with one leg out. I wish I could find the perfect pillow too! My sleep issue is the meowy cat who likes to play in the middle of the night.
I'm a side sleeper, mostly. I have been having so many problems trying to find a good pillow. I literally have bought 3 new pillows in the last 3 weeks! So far, they have all been failures...at this rate though I will have plenty of options for guests to choose from!
I'm a side sleeper with a stiff neck and sore back too. I would love a magical pillow!
I sleep on my stomach with one knee drawn up or my back.
Left side sleeper with one leg pulled up.
Sleeping on my side is preferred...otherwise, my husband says I snore too much! haha Plus, after neck fusion, sleeping on my side seems to feel better!
I'm a side sleeper. I start on my left curled up with my body pillow between my knees. The switch to the right with my leg up. I usually sleep this way all night and have a dead arm from it
I'm a side sleeper and usually have to fight for space with my boxer/lab mix :) Most nights I have another pillow between my knees.
Side sleeper on my right with my body pillow....until about 530 when husband gets up and I get the entire bed to myself!!!!! Then its on my side with legs and arms spread waaay out!
I sleep on my stomach, head turns to the left. I then spend an hour rolling my neck in the morning to try to work the kinks out. hoping this pillow would be the "fix" I've been looking for.
left side. and desperately in need of a new pillow. especially if this new pillow is as magical as you say it is.
Left side sleeper...balancing on approximately 2 inches of bed thanks to the resident 5 year old...in fact, most nights my pillow and head are on the nightstand.
I'm all over the place. Usually partially on side/stomach with one leg kicked up and one arm under the pillow. It's terrible for my muscles and my massage therapist hates me for it.
Side sleeper, anchored in place by cats.
I aspire to sleep on my back, but in reality I sleep on my stomach with one arm under the pillow. it is jacking up my shoulders and it needs to stop! Why am I so bad at sleeping on my back?
Side/stomach sleeper who wakes up with bad neck pain these days (not helped by a head butting 2 year old).
Right side sleeper, fetal position with 85 pound boxer dog snuggled up behind my legs, with no possible leg movement for me.
On my left side is my absolute sleeping position (although I do wake up on my back during the night).
I'm a side sleeper and must have one foot out at all times. Must. And usually squished in one spot all night by the husband and super cuddly cat.
Mostly a side sleeper, although I fall asleep on my stomach. I am in desperate need of a new pillow... I've had my current, disgusting pillow now for roughly 15 years because I can't find a magical one that I like better!!
I must wake up sore and needing to turn over about 100 times a night. We just bought a Leesa mattress and an adjustable bedframe and it's helped a lot. Now I just need to find the perfect pillow to take care of my neck and I'll be set!
Mostly side sleeper here but I tend to move all around. Would love to have this new pillow!!!! Please !!!
Side sleeper for sure and I've been looking for a new pillow!
Side sleeper, currently using MyPillow - but I'm always on the lookout for something better.
Right side, with the left leg out (temperature control) and uh...I know i totally have the wrong pillow. Know why I know that? My pillow is currently comprised of the stuffed tiger I stole from the kid (stacked on a real pillow but still). I don't think stuffed tigers are good pillows.
I'm a curled up on my side in the fetal postion sleeper and I need a covering but not a tucked in covering. My current pillow is pitiful.
Side sleeper surrounded by pillows to try and prevent aches in the morning.
I'm a roamer... start on my back, switch to my side, wake up in the middle of the night and change to the other side... :)
Side sleeper hugging a body pillow.
I mostly sleep on my left side with an extra pillow between my knees.
Definitely side or stomach with my hands curled in awkward positions under my pillow.
