Together for a Reason

To say that Alexis and Mila go together like peanut butter and jelly is to vastly understate how well they compliment each other. They were meant to be together in a way that defies the English language. They don't just bring each other joy, they breathe life into one another.

Mila is the cheese to Alexis' macaroni.

One is the yin to the other's yang.

Mila is the devil to Alexis' angel.

Which, I just figured that one out. It was terribly obvious, but it took a little incident for me to see it for what it is.

Alexis, she who cannot break the rules without hyperventilating and generally losing her mind, was clearly born with an angel sitting on each of her shoulders. The angels punch her in the gut when she thinks about doing something bad. She's said as much more than a few times. "I was going to lie to you, but then my stomach hurt really bad so I didn't."

She can't help it. She's the good kid.

Mila, on the other hand. Welp. Mila has Alexis' devil on one shoulder and her own devil on the other. She's a challenge is what I'm saying. Mischief is her profession and business is good.

There are plenty of incidents that prove my point, but perhaps my favorite was captured on video a few days ago. Before I post it, though, I feel the need to explain one little thing -- my Mom Glare is top notch. It is so top notch that it not only sends Alexis into a fit of tears, it works on strangers' kids as well. I can Mom Glare my way through lots of situations, including those involving teens acting like jerks at the mall. I've guilted many kids into better behavior without ever saying a word.

So it stands to reason that when Mila wouldn't sit her butt down in a chair like she's supposed to, I pulled out the Mom Glare.

It went well, I think.

Like I said, she's a challenge. A super cute challenge.
